Holiday Party Concert

The children in all three preschool classes decorated concert hats and props for their holiday party concert.  The classes took turns proudly singing Christmas tunes for their families. Our preschool enjoyed a nice potluck, a holiday craft, and a special surprise visit from Santa Claus! We wish you all a wonderful holiday break and we look forward to the children filling the classrooms again in January.

Piano/Opera Concert

Pianist SophiƩ van der Westhuizen and opera singer Rebecca Freshman performed for the children. Everyone loved the music and puppets and ringing bells to the tune of Jingle Bells!

Pastor Derek Reading to the Preschool Classes

Pastor Derek read to each of the classes last week. The children all enjoyed it and we really appreciated him taking time to spend with our children!

Creative Movement

Once a week the kids get to move, dance and sing with their teacher Mrs. Steinweg. They all have so much fun and it is a great day to be a parent helper to see them have a great time together outside of their classroom.

A Peek Inside the Pre-K Classroom

Extended Day Enchrichment

The first session of Extended Day Enchrichment with Mrs. Carrie is underway.  The first week the little scientists learned about why leaves change color in the fall.  The big word of the day was "chlorophyll" and the children did a great job remembering it!  They also talked about how different trees make different shaped leaves.  While on their leaf collecting walk the children observed the different colors and different shapes of the leaves.  They also examined the differences between the leaves on the ground and the leaves still in the trees.  They sorted their leaves and had fun using them for painting and looking at them more closely with magnifying glasses.

The second week the children studies apples.  Some of the things they learned about include the parts of the apple and how an apple grows from a seed to an apple tree. They even got to make some yummy apple treats!
