Pumpkin Carving

Naturalist Visits

All three classes got to learn about reptiles and see and touch two turtles!

Scholastic Book Sale

Our first Scholastic book drive of the year is open! Let's get our little ones some Halloween themed books for home and earn some free books for our school!  Orders can be placed at Scholastic.com with our class code K29Y8. If you have any questions please contact Mara in the 3/4s class.

Remember to bring your registration forms to school on Wednesday and turn into Shlana or Eden.

FCCNS Returning and New Member Coffee/Playdate

Welcome to the Fairmount Cooperative Nursery School!  Every year we like to hold a coffee playdate prior to the start of the school year so families can begin to get acquainted with each other.  We would love to see your family there.  The details are below:

Date:  August 24th, 2012

Time:  9:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m.

Location:  The pre-school playground at the Fairmount Presbyterian Church
(located in the back of the parking lot). 

If it is raining, we will hold the coffee in the large muscle room located in the
basement of the church.

End of the School Year Picnic

We had a beautiful day to enjoy our last day of school together at Cumberland Park. Thanks to the Hospitality Committee for holding such a great event! Have a great summer everyone!

After learning all about the rainforest,
the Pre-K class got to take a field trip
to the RainForest at the Cleveland Zoo.

Learning about Safety

Each class got to talk to a police officer and learn all about safety as well as check out the 

inside of her police car!

FCCNS Students are Seeing Stars!

You know you are at a great school with great parents and teachers when you walk in and see this giant planetarium blown up! (top left corner picture)  The students got to enjoy watching and learning about stars in this portable planetarium from the Natural History Museum.  After looking at the stars they got to  go camping & cook over a "fire", make smores, and create their own outer space masterpiece.  To say it was a fun day is an understatement.  Thank you to our WONDERFUL enrichment committee for putting all of this together!

All of our classes got to celebrate and enjoy the fun that comes along with Valentine's Day!

New Toys!

Who doesn't love new toys?! We recently got to purchase several new things for each of our classrooms thanks to all the money raised through fundraising.  Here are just some of the new items to look for in the classrooms!  We also purchased a Cricut paper cutter.  I personally didn't know much about these before hand but they create some of the coolest things.  We have dies to cut letters, numbers, dolls, clothing, animals, cars and trucks, and much more.

OPEN HOUSE!

Stop by our Open House from 3-5pm January 22nd! We will also be at the Cleveland Heights Library Preschool Fair from 2-4pm (the same day, at Lee Rd library!). Join us for refreshments, take a tour of our facility and meet all our wonderful teachers.  We hope to see you there!

Holiday Party

On the last day of school before winter break, FCCNS students got to celebrate the holiday season with their families at our Holiday Party. Each class sang a song followed by a potluck brunch, a surprise visit from Santa, and some ornament making and cookie decorating to top it all off!

Creative Movement Class

Here is a video showing just a part of the fun the Fairmount kids have in Creative Movement class.  Once a week the kids get to move, dance and sing with their teacher Mrs. Steinweg (you can see her bio on our website http://www.fairmountcoop.org/Teachers.html).  They all have so much fun and it is a great day to be a parent helper to see them have a great time together as a class outside of their classroom.

FCCNS Registration for Current Families Begins December 13th

Registration for the 2012-2013 school year will begin next Tuesday, Dec 13th for current FCCNS Co-op families.  Someone from the membership committee will be available throughout the week to hand out forms before and after class. The non-refundable registration fee is due with your completed application form.

Those who get their Registration forms and fee in to Jen or Missy by 1:55pm Friday Dec 16th will be entered in a drawing for a $20 Starbucks Gift Card!

This is a festive event featuring food and crafts. Comer browse and hear about how giving to Heifer International feed children and families throughout the world.

Enrichment Activity - Dino Dig

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History came to FCCNS to put on a presentation all about dinosaurs!  The kids LOVED this!  They got to hold and examine all different kinds of fossils and bones.  Then they broke into small groups and got to dig for bones, map their findings and much more!
